We are pleased to share that RI-SCALE has been featured in the latest issue of ERCIM News (No. 144, April 2026), under the special theme “Advancing Open Science, Federated Infrastructures and Trustworthy Ecosystems.”
The article, “Scalable Platforms for Reusing Research Infrastructure Data in Open Science,” presents RI-SCALE’s vision for enabling more effective reuse of research infrastructure data by bringing together data, computing, and AI capabilities within scalable platforms.
As highlighted in the article, a key objective of RI-SCALE is to support the long-term evolution of Research Infrastructures (RIs) by strengthening partnerships between RI data providers and compute centres. This approach extends traditional RI data services with integrated data processing capabilities, allowing researchers to analyse data where they are hosted rather than transferring large datasets to local environments.
By developing Data Exploitation Platforms, RI-SCALE contributes to closing the gap between data availability and data usability—an increasingly critical challenge as datasets continue to grow in size and complexity.
