European research project RI-SCALE is accepting proposals for its Open Call for Use Cases, connecting scientific communities, tech companies, and research infrastructures with compute capacity and technical expertise to pilot AI workflows on big scientific datasets.
The open call supports teams that need additional compute power or platform support to run AI, machine learning, or data-heavy applications. It covers three main areas: research infrastructures with large datasets that lack processing capacity, software developers testing AI tools in a research environment, and scientific teams with specific research questions requiring complex workflows like digital twins or predictive models.
Selected projects receive compute and storage capacity through RI-SCALE's Data Exploitation Platforms (DEP), along with hands-on assistance from technical experts for data replication, platform integration, and workflow configuration.
"We are excited to launch this open call and partner with ambitious research and industry teams," said Ville Tenhunen, technical coordinator of the RI-SCALE project. "This was built to give developers and scientists the exact compute power, storage, and hands-on guidance they need to scale their big-data AI applications."
Proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis, with initial feedback provided within a month of submission. Approved pilots run for 6 to 10 months and must finalise by December 2027.
