First RI-SCALE Deliverable Published: Data Exploitation Platform Requirements

We are proud to announce the publication of RI-SCALE’s first deliverable: D5.1 – Data Exploitation Platform Requirements and Design Considerations.

This report lays the foundation for the Data Exploitation Platform (DEP) – a key outcome of RI-SCALE – by consolidating the requirements gathered from both technical work packages and scientific use cases. A total of 88 functional and non-functional requirements were collected, structured, and prioritised to guide the DEP’s design and development.

What is inside?

The document introduces a structured requirement consolidation process, ensuring alignment between user needs and platform development. It presents:

  • A comprehensive list of 88 functional and non-functional requirements

  • A common framework for requirement collection, traceability, and validation

  • Preliminary design considerations, including architecture, user roles, deployment options, and service domains

This work ensures that the DEP will support cross-disciplinary scientific use cases with scalable, user-friendly, and standards-aligned data services.
