The RI-SCALE project has recently updated its Key Exploitable Results (KERs) to better capture, communicate, and maximise the impact of its outputs. KERs represent the project’s most significant results—whether products, services, processes, or knowledge—that have a clear potential for uptake and use by stakeholders beyond the project’s lifetime. By refining the KERs, RI-SCALE ensures that its innovations are not only actionable but also positioned for real-world exploitation.
Strengthening RI-SCALE Impact

Why Update the KERs?
Originally identified during the project proposal phase, the KERs were designed to highlight high-potential results such as the Data Exploitation Platform (DEP) and AI frameworks for scalable analytics. As the project has progressed, the consortium recognised the need to reflect the most exploitable outcomes of RI-SCALE in a way that better supports their uptake, alignment with stakeholders, and measurable impact.
This update allows the project to:
- Better capture and showcase emerging results and their applications.
- Align KERs with specific stakeholders to facilitate adoption.
- Improve documentation and communication, making it easier for partners and external users to understand and exploit the results.
What’s New in the RI-SCALE KERs?
The updated KERs now include:
- Scalable Data Exploitation Platform (DEP) – enhanced to support multiple domains.
- AI Assets for Scalable Analytics – models and frameworks ready for deployment.
- Credit Management System – supporting resource and data usage tracking.
- Competence Centre and Training Ecosystem – empowering partners and users.
- – 8. Domain-specific DEPs – tailored platforms for ENES, EISCAT_3D, BBMRI, and Euro-BioImaging.
Each KER is supported by a designated KER ambassador, acting as the central point of contact for information, dissemination, and exploitation. Ambassadors bridge the gap between technical outputs and real-world use, suggesting improvements, coordinating with work package teams, and ensuring proper documentation for EU reporting.
Enhancing Exploitation and Impact
By refining the KERs, RI-SCALE strengthens the connection between its research outputs and tangible outcomes. The update ensures that each KER is actionable, impact-oriented, and aligned with stakeholder needs, providing a clear roadmap for uptake and further development beyond the project.
This approach demonstrates RI-SCALE’s commitment not only to innovation but also to maximising the societal and scientific impact of its results.
