RI-SCALE at EBDVF 2025

Driving AI and Big Data Exploitation in Research Infrastructures

RI-SCALE was proud to participate in the European Big Data Value Forum (EBDVF) 2025, held 12–14 November at DGI Byen in Copenhagen, Denmark. Represented by Magdalena Brus (Communications Manager) and Ville Tenhunen (Technical Coordinator), we shared a booth with our platinum sponsor, EGI Foundation, offering visitors a hands-on look at how RI-SCALE empowers research infrastructures (and their users) with federated AI and big data exploitation solutions.

Keynote Presentation: Unlocking the Potential of Research Data

Ville Tenhunen presented RI-SCALE during the “Inspirational Speeches and Keynotes” session on 13 November with his talk, “Powering AI and Big Data Exploitation with Federated National E-Infrastructures”. He opened with a key question facing today’s Research Infrastructures: while they are producing unprecedented volumes of data, are we truly able to exploit it to its full potential?

RI-SCALE addresses this challenge with its Data Exploitation Platforms (DEPs) — a scalable, open solution designed to enhance scientific data valorisation across domains. The DEPs provide:

  • Robust, interoperable data management tools
  • AI-driven analysis to turn raw data into actionable insights
  • Secure access and sharing mechanisms
  • Seamless integration with national and European e-infrastructures

Engaging with the Community

At our booth, we had rich conversations with relevant organisations, projects and networks, representatives of research communities, industry professionals, and policy-makers, showcasing the DEP concept and exploring opportunities for collaboration. The event was an excellent platform to highlight RI-SCALE’s future impact on Europe’s research data ecosystem and strengthen connections within the AI and big data community.

RI-SCALE continues to welcome collaborations with partners interested in federated infrastructures, AI, and data exploitation
